Rolex Explorer I 1016
The Rolex Explorer 1016 is an underappreciated watch and it really shouldn’t be. It’s as comfortable and durable as any other sport Rolex. This watch takes it name after the famous Everest expedition conducted by Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary in 1953. Edmund reached the world’s highest peak wearing a Rolex Oyster Perpetual, which would later become the Rolex Explorer. The reference 1016 we have here was manufactured in 1968 and measures 37mm in diameter. The case and movement are in outstanding conditions while the famous 3-6-9 dial is a pleasure to look at.
